n. (1906-1956) British hemophiliac patient who developed a large hematoma on his chest and was given a blood transfusion to which he developed a reaction and when the research team (at London's Postgraduate Medical School) compared samples of his blood with donor blood it discovered the existence of a new blood group system (Duffy blood-group system)
