National monument, central Arizona, U.S. Located in the Verde River valley, the 43-ac (17-ha) park was established in 1939.
Its outstanding feature is the ruin of a 110-room Sinagua Indian pueblo that was occupied by three cultural groups from AD 1100 to 1450. The structure was excavated in 193334 and partially rebuilt.
