BASSIANUS

Meaning of BASSIANUS in English

the younger brother of Saturninus in Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus. More dignified than his brother, Bassianus perhaps would have made the better emperor. Having fled Rome with his beloved Lavinia, Bassianus is murdered by the sons of Tamora, and his corpse is used by Tamora's circle to exact revenge upon Titus Andronicus.
