Meaning of BOGAZKOY in English

(TurkishGorge Village) modern Bogazkale, also spelled Boghazkeui village, north-central Turkey. Located 17 mi (27 km) northwest of Yozgat, it is the site of the archaeological remains of Hattusas (Hattusa, Hattusha, or Khattusas), the ancient capital of the Hittites, who established a powerful empire in Anatolia and northern Syria in the 2nd millennium BC.
