CITLALTPETL

Spanish in full Volcn Citlaltpetl, also called Pico De Orizaba, volcano on the Veracruz-Puebla border, south-central Mexico. It rises on the southern edge of the Mexican Plateau, 60 miles (100 km) east of the city of Puebla. At 18,406 feet (5,610 m) above sea level, Citlaltpetl's symmetrical, snowcapped cone is the third highest peak in North America after Mount McKinley, Alaska, and Mount Logan, Canada. The volcano has been dormant since 1687. Citlaltpetl was first climbed in 1848.
