LA LNEA

in full La Lnea de la Concepcin town, Cadiz provincia, in the comunidad autnoma (autonomous community) of Andalusia, southwestern Spain. It lies along the Bay of Gibraltar, between San Roque and the British colony of Gibraltar. The name is derived from the lnea, or boundary, dividing Spanish territory from the district of Gibraltar. The town processes fruit and vegetables for sale in Gibraltar, and manufactures include cork, liquor, and fish paste. La Lnea is the site of a national military garrison and headquarters of the Spanish commandant of the lnea of Gibraltar. Pop. (1981) 55,590.
