Meaning of ADLER in English

(1914–2001)

a US musician who plays the harmonica (= a small instrument held against the mouth). He moved to Britain in the 1950s. Several composers, including Malcolm Arnold and Ralph Vaughan Williams , have written music specially for him. Adler has written and played music for a number of films, including Genevieve (1953), A High Wind in Jamaica (1965) and My Life (1992).
