ARCHERS

Meaning of ARCHERS in English

a popular British radio programme broadcast six days a week that presents a continuing story about the lives of ordinary people. The Archers are a family in the imaginary village of Ambridge , a small farming community somewhere in the middle of England. The programme has been broadcast by the BBC since 1951, longer than any other programme of its kind in the world. Many famous people admit that they listen to it regularly:

Don’t ring her up when she’s listening to The Archers.
