Meaning of BLACKPOOL in English

a town on the coast of Lancashire in north-west England. In the past it was a popular holiday place for workers in the Lancashire cotton mills. Its famous beach is 7 miles/11 kilometres long, and the town offers a lot of entertainment. The Blackpool Tower is a famous landmark in the area. It was built in 1894 out of metal, like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and is 520 feet/158 metres high. Blackpool is also famous for the Blackpool Illuminations , an event in the autumn when the Tower and the streets are lit up every night for several weeks with thousands of coloured lights.
