I . Donald Campbell

(1921–67)

an English sports driver whose aim was to travel faster than anybody had ever done before. In the 1950s and 1960s he held the world records for speed on land and water. He died in 1967 when his boat Bluebird crashed while he was trying to break another speed record. Malcolm Campbell was his father.

II . Glen Campbell

(1936– )

a US singer of country music . He received Emmy awards for the song Gentle on My Mind (1967) and the album By the Time I Get to Phoenix (1968). His other successes include Rhinestone Cowboy (1975).

III . Malcolm Campbell

(1885–1948)

a British motor racing driver who held the world records for speed on land and water in the 1920s and 1930s. Many of his cars and boats were called Bluebird and his son Donald continued this tradition. He was made a knight in 1931.

IV . Mrs Patrick Campbell

(1865–1940)

An English actor who was well known for her intelligent and humorous remarks. Her name before her marriage to Patrick Campbell was Beatrice Tanner. Her best-known role was as Eliza in George Bernard Shaw ‘s Pygmalion .

V . Naomi Campbell

(1970– )

an English fashion model whose photographs appear in magazines and advertisements all over the world.
