I . Bobby Charlton

(1937–2004)

an English football player who played for Manchester United (1954–73) and England. He scored 49 goals for England, more than any other player, although his usual position was in midfield, between the attack and defence. He is best remembered for the exciting goals he scored by kicking the ball very hard from a long distance outside the goal area. He was made a knight in 1994.

II . Jack Charlton

(1935– )

an English football player who played for Leeds United (1952–73) and England. He often played in the England defence in the same team as his younger brother Bobby Charlton . After he stopped playing football, he became a successful football manager, taking the Republic of Ireland team to the final rounds of the World Cup in 1990 and 1994.
