Meaning of CLOG in English

a shoe made of wood or partly of wood. In traditional clog dancing the dancers’ clogs were used to beat a rhythm on the floor. This traditional dancing was popular in Ireland and northern England and later influenced tap-dancing in the US. Charlie Chaplin’s first performance as a child in England was a clog dance.
