a Scottish actor who is best known for his role as James Bond (II) in many of the Bond films, including the first one, Dr No (1962). He has made many other films, including The Name of the Rose (1986), The Russia House (1990), Rising Sun (1993) and The Rock (1996). He was over 60 years old when the readers of a popular women’s magazine voted him the world’s sexiest man (= the man most attractive to women). He was made a knight in 2000.
