the first Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury . He was influenced by the ideas of Martin Luther, and supported King Henry VIII over the ending of his marriage to Catherine of Aragon and in establishing the Church of England . He was responsible for the Book of Common Prayer and had a strong influence on the Reformation . He was killed by burning when the Roman Catholic Mary I became Queen.
