CUB SCOUT


Meaning of CUB SCOUT in English

( also Cub ) n

a member of the junior branch of the Scouts , for boys aged between 8 and 10 in Britain and 7 and 10 in the US. Since 1992 girls have been able to join the British Cub Scouts, but only in areas where the local group has agreed to accept them. In Britain the adult in charge of a group (or ‘pack’) of Cubs is known as Akela , from a character in The Jungle Book .
