Meaning of EXECUTIVE BRANCH in English

the division of the US government under the President, who is called the Chief Executive. It carries out the decisions of Congress , because the American Constitution says the President must ‘take care that the laws be faithfully executed’. The executive branch includes the Vice-president, the President’s Cabinet, ambassadors (= senior government representatives in foreign countries), all departments (such as the Department of State and Department of Defense) and many other smaller government organizations.
