a series of US space flights (1963–6) with two men in each. During the Gemini flights astronauts made space ‘walks’ and brought two spacecraft together in space for the first time. This was a preparation for the Apollo program , and one of the Gemini astronauts was Neil Armstrong , the first man on the moon.
