Gen X

a generation of people in North America born in the 1960s and 1970s, whose parents were born during the Baby Boom , who are characterized as well educated, but who feel that they do not want to be part of modern society and are not interested in social status, jobs or money. The term was made popular by the book by Douglas Coupland Generation X: Tales from an Accelerated Culture (1991) and the attitudes of Generation Xers are seen in popular culture in people such as Kurt Cobain and the films of Quentin Tarantino .
