(1937– )
a US actor who is known for his close attention to details of character in a wide range of different roles. His first big success was in The Graduate , and he won Oscars for Kramer vs Kramer (1979) and Rain Man (1988). His other films have included Midnight Cowboy , All the President’s Men (1976), Tootsie (1982) and Runaway Jury (2003), based on a novel by John Grisham .
