( John Forbes Kerry 1943– )
a US Senator from Massachusetts since 1985. He was chosen as the Democratic Party ‘s candidate in the election for President in 2004. Kerry served in the US Navy from 1966 to 1970 and won medals for courage in the Vietnam War . He later joined the protests against the war.
