a US writer who has been called ‘the queen of the glamour novel’. Her stories are about beautiful women and rich, powerful men. Her first and best-known novel was Scruples (1978). Others include Princess Daisy (1980), I’ll Take Manhattan (1986), Till We Meet Again (1988) and Spring Collection (1997). She published her autobiography Sex and Shopping: The Confessions of a Nice Jewish Girl in 2000.
