a US author who wrote more than 20 novels which have been translated into 32 languages in 40 countries. The stories are about spies and international crime. Some of his novels have been made into films, including The Bourne Identity (1980) and The Bourne Supremacy (1986). His other novels include The Matlock Paper (1973), The Icarus Agenda (1988), The Bourne Ultimatum (1990) and The Matarese Countdown (1997).
