II . Ross Macdonald

(1915–83)

a US writer of detective stories . His real name was Kenneth Millar. The main character in his books is Lew Archer, a tough but sympathetic detective. The books include The Galton Case (1959), The Chill (1964) and Sleeping Beauty (1973).
