Meaning of MACKENZIE in English

(1883–1972)

a British author. He is best known for his novel Whisky Galore , about a boat carrying whisky that gets stuck on the shore of a Scottish island. The people on the island keep the whisky but have to hide it from the authorities. It was made into an Ealing comedy in 1947. His many other books include Sinister Street (1913–14), based on his life in Oxford and London. He was made a knight in 1952.
