a type of US popular music. It combines rock and roll with country music , which was originally called ‘ hillbilly music’. Rockabilly was especially popular in the mid 1950s, and was sung by Elvis Presley , Conway Twitty , Carl Perkins , Brenda Lee and other early rock and roll stars.
