a children’s Christmas song written in 1949 about a reindeer (= type of deer) called Rudolph, who has a shiny red nose, and the other reindeer laugh at him because they think it looks ridiculous. In spite of this Santa Claus chooses him to pull his sleigh on Christmas Eve.
