( in Britain ) two women’s names that were used by the writer Keith Waterhouse in a series of newspaper articles in the 1980s to refer to women with poor taste who speak English badly and are not very polite. Sharon and Tracy are also the names of the two sisters in the British television comedy series Birds of a Feather whose husbands are in prison.
