a US rock singer and writer of songs whose popular name is ‘the Boss’. He is known for his powerful live performances. He formed the E Street Band in 1973, and their No. 1 albums have included Born in the USA (1984) and Tunnel of Love (1987). His song Streets of Philadelphia (1994) for the film Philadelphia won an Oscar , a Golden Globe Award and four Emmy awards. By 1998, Springsteen had also won eight Grammys. In 2003 he won three Grammys for The Rising about the events of 9/11.
