BOITATÁ

Meaning of BOITATÁ in English

[Folklore] There are two versions for the Brazilian boitatá legend: some says that it is a huge fire serpent which lives in the rivers and attacks others animals to absorb their energy and light to keep its fire in the water. The other version says it is a bull-like creature which spits fire from his mouth, but in reality it is the soul of a wicked person.
