SCRUBBER, VENTURI

An air pollution control device that operates by the introduction of a liquid into a narrow throat section (venturi) of an air duct that is carrying a contaminant. The high velocity in the venturi, compared to the low initial liquid velocity, provides efficient contact between the injected scrubbing liquid and the contaminant to be removed.
