(Statistics) Periodic, repetitive, and generally predictable patterns in time series data. Typically, forecast models must explicitly incorporate seasonality in the estimation process either through Differencing techniques (transformations), through the introduction of seasonal Dummy Variables to explicitly account for these patterns, or by seasonal smoothing (Winters Model).
