Meaning of TOTAL TRIHALOMETHANES (TTHMS) in English

(Water Quality) The sum of the concentrations of individual members of a family of halogenated derivatives of methane in drinking water. The concentrations of the following are employed to compute the sum in milligrams per liter (mg/l): chloroform, dibromochloromethane, bromodichloromethane, and bromoform. Also see Trihalomethanes.
