DROUGHT


Meaning of DROUGHT in English

A period of abnormally dry weather sufficiently prolonged for the lack of water to cause a serious hydrologic imbalance (i.e. crop damage) in the effected area. Drought severity depends upon the degree of moisture deficiency, the duration, and (to a lesser extend) the size of the effected area . Choudhury and Jensen (1997)
