Fiday prayers: Friday prayers consist of 2 units like dawn prayers. The difference between these two prayers is. however. that two sermons are also to be delivered before Friday prayers. The offering of midday prayers is an optional obligation. It means that we have the option to offer Friday prayers, if the necessary conditions for the performance of the same are present, or to perform midday (Zuhr) prayers. Hence, if Friday prayers are offered they suffice for midday prayers (viz. it is not then necessary to offer midday prayers).
