Dyf ‧ ed /ˈdʌvəd, ˈdʌvɪd/ BrE AmE
a former ↑ county in southwest Wales, next to the Atlantic Ocean. In 1996 Dyfed was divided between the counties of Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire, and Pembrokeshire. The port of Milford Haven, and the universities of Aberystwyth and Lampeter are in Dyfed.
