a very popular US ↑ sitcom (=a television programme consisting of humorous stories about the same group of characters) about a group of friends who live in New York City during the late 1990s. The main characters were played by three young men and three young women who were known especially for being sexually attractive. Friends was first broadcast from 1994 until 2004.
