Gold ‧ wyn, Sam ‧ u ‧ el /ˈɡəʊldwɪn, ˈsæmjuəl/ BrE AmE
(1882–1974) a US film ↑ producer who started the company that became ↑ MGM and had an important part in the development of the Hollywood film industry. He is thought of as the most typical example of a powerful film producer. He is also famous for saying funny things such as ‘Include me out!’ (=‘Don’t include me!’).
