Ren ‧ dell, Ruth /ˈrendl/ BrE AmE

(1930–) a British writer of novels about crime and murder, who sometimes also uses the name Barbara Vine. Many of her books have been made into films for cinema and especially for television. She represents the Labour Party in the House of Lords, and her official title is Baroness Rendell of Babergh.
