a television company owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation, which operates several different television ↑ channel s that broadcast programmes in the UK. For example, there is a news channel as well as several sports and film channels. In order to receive its programmes, you have to pay money to Sky and have a ↑ satellite dish on your house. Some Sky channels can also be seen on ↑ cable and ↑ digital TV. Many new films and many of the most important sports events are shown only on Sky.
