SNP, the /ˌes en ˈpiː/ BrE AmE abbreviation for
the Scottish National Party; a political party in Scotland which wants Scotland to become an independent country in the EU (=European Union) . Its leader is Alex Salmond and it is the largest party in the Scottish parliament.
