[dau.no.ru.bi.cin] n [dauno- (as in daunomycin) + rubidomycin, a substance found to be identical with daunomycin (fr. ISV rubido- -- fr. L rubidus red -- + -mycin)] (ca. 1968): an antibiotic that is a nitrogenous glycoside and is used esp. in the treatment of leukemia
