To annoy someone excessively; also to experience anywhere from minor to excessive annoyance at the hands of an exasperating idiot or irksome situation (to be harangled); a term meaning annoyance or personal harassment (haranglement) Example: The first period student harangled the substitute teacher by saying This is just a blowoff class. What the student failed to recognise was that the substitute teacher viewed his job as substitue TEACHING, not being the substitute butt of students' jokes.
