The emergence of complex, non-predictable behaviours from simple initial conditions. The whole field of chaos mathematics essentially revolves around this concept. Example: Weather algorithms demonstrate classic simplexity. If one develops a system with 3 or 4 initial interacting parameters, it is quite impossible to predict the outcome once the algorithm is run.
