Intels Network Management Station Service task. This task is installed by the drivers for some Intel network cards and provides SNMP support ( S imple N etwork M anagement P rotocol).
Recommendation :
If you are not on a network, then you do not need this task and you can disable it either with Startup Manager, or by setting it to "Manual" under Services in the Control Panel for Windows NT4/2000/XP. If you are on a network, liaise with your network administrator to see if SNMP is used on your network if SNMP is not used, then, again, you do not need this task.
