RECTIFIER

A device used to change AC ( alternating current ) into DC ( direct current ). Some small motorcycles use a single diode for this purpose (half-wave rectifiers), the overwhelming majority use four diodes connected in a bridge which yields full-wave rectification. Also see diode .
