HANNA SENESH

n. (1921-1944) Israeli heroine born in Hungary, parachutist who was one of the first women volunteers to join a parachutist group in the British Royal Air Force, in 1944 she parachuted into Yugoslavia and with the help of a partisan group she crossed the Hungarian border where she was captured by the Germans (imprisoned and tortured) and executed by a firing squad after was convicted of treason
