Swift-moving food and game fish ( Pomatomus saltatrix ) found throughout warm and tropical regions of the Atlantic and Indian oceans.
It lives in schools and is a voracious predator of smaller animals, especially other fishes. It is slender and has a forked tail and a large mouth with strong, pointed teeth. It is blue or greenish and grows to a length of about 4 ft (1.2 m) and a weight of 25 lbs (11.5 kg).
