Caesar worked with Henry Ford during World War I before turning to songwriting. Working with various collaborators, he provided the lyrics for such standards as "Swanee," "Sometimes I'm Happy," "Crazy Rhythm," and "Tea for Two," one of the most frequently recorded tunes ever written.
