Socialist society founded in 1883–84 in London, to establish a democratic socialist state in Britain.

The name derived from George Bernard Shaw and Sidney and Beatrice Webb . They helped organize a separate party that became the {{link=Labour Party">Labour Party in 1906, and many Labour members of Parliament have been Fabians.
