ALBULA ALPS

part of the Rhaetian Alps in eastern Switzerland, lying in Graubnden canton to the north of the resort of Saint Moritz. The mountains extend northeastward from the Splgen Pass (6,932 feet ) to the Flela Pass (7,818 feet ), and they include the Albula Pass (7,585 feet ). Many peaks rise to more than 10,000 feet (3,050 m); the highest is the glacier-covered Piz Kesch (11,214 feet ). Winter sports are popular in the region.
